A change in the air. [22 Aug 2005|11:10pm]
[ mood | amused ]

I feel as if there is a strange change in the air.

The Chuunin exam has commenced, which I believe is the main change. A few interesting things happened... such as the entrance of Orochimaru and his Sound Nins... and Sasuke. Yes. He is a part of them. He made his choice.

I'm sure Godaime knows what she's doing.

And the most interesting turn of event has occurred. I am merely observant. I watched the children gather with the rest to take the first part of the exam and Kaori was staring into the crowd with a rather far, starry-eye gaze. And behind her were Tsutomu and Hiro, conversing in angry whispers. Perhaps she fancies one of the testers? Ah, that would make sense... Tsutomu and Hiro now have a common enemy.

Kids are so cute. ^__^

Ah, and tomorrow, I'm meeting Pakkun's lady-friend. It should prove as interesting.

I have found my nights without company for some time.

^___^ [27 Jul 2005|07:12pm]
Pakkun has been coming home later than usual. He comes home to teasing, hollering and dog-calls from the others (I would use "cat-calls" but, well, it doesn't seem to fit) but ignores it. In fact, I don't think he even hears them. He enters with a big grin on his face and mutters how wonderful life is.

I would very much like to meet this female.

Naruto, Sakura and their friend Ino have returned from their mission just recently. The ladies are in better health than during their trip, which is good to hear. It was unfortunate that they both became sick; how lucky for them that Naruto did not, to my knowledge, catch any sort of illness during their mission. In fact, I don't ever recall Naruto succumbing to the common cold... there is probably a reason for that.

And speaking of missions, the last one I supervised with my young team proved to be very educational. In fact, teamwork between Hiro, Kaori and Tsutomu is far better than last time. The boys are talking to each other in much better terms, which shows that they have matured over the past couple weeks. Good. They need that in the exam.

Interesting information. [26 Jun 2005|10:35am]
For once, this entry will not be about my bickering team nor any sorts of interesting rendevous or missions. Do not get me wrong. My team is still bickering (but still together), and there have been missions that probably should be written about. But this matter has been going on for some time and should finally be given the attention it deserves.

Pakkun has been singing. A lot. Everyday for the past couple of months, Pakkun's singing has been filling the halls of my apartment, morning, noon and night. I do wonder what could cause such behavior. But I do have a guess. ^_____^

Still waiting. [01 Jun 2005|11:26am]
[ mood | thoughtful ]

The Chuunin exam is to start soon, I hope. My young team is growing quite restless. They want the exam to start ASAP; I'm not sure whether it is to prove their worth or the boys' patience are wearing thin. Although they have agreed to put aside their difference when it comes to their affections for Kaori, they are 12-year-old boys. During training sessions, I sometimes catch them about to sock each other in the face, only to stop a step short of doing so. Their willpower is admirable, I must say. So is their energy. It somewhat brings me back...

And still, I await news of Naruto's, Sakura's and Ino's return. It has been far too long since I heard news of their whereabouts.

OOC: I updated May 16th, saying the first part of the Chuunin exam was complete. That was my sorry attempt to get the ball rolling. However, since nothing happened, I deleted it. =P Whoops.

I hope more people come back soon. I know things like jobs and school can get in the way...

Preparation complete. [01 May 2005|05:59pm]
[ mood | thoughtful ]

My students had just returned through the Konoha gates about an hour ago. I would have thought they would have arrived earlier, but they work at their own pace. They decided to put their differences aside for the sake of their single goal: to survive the Chuunin exams. I think they shall do just fine.

Of course, I did get an earful for throwing them in the forest in the first place. But, I have other things to be concerned over, rather than my current students' temporary animosity towards me. They shall soon realize the value of what I did.

I warned them. [26 Apr 2005|10:56am]
Desperate times call for desperate measures.

I warned them to read what is underneath.

They didn't listen.

And so, it's been about two days since I threw my team in the deep forests of Konoha late Sunday night. I'm watching their every move.

Things are slightly looking up. I won't reconsider my decision for their participation in the exam, so long as their performance is satisfactory to me.

How long until the Chuunin exam? [14 Apr 2005|11:02am]
Tsutomu, Kaori, and Hiro is only the second group I passed. I have faith in my team. I really do. They did pass the bell test, so I know they can work as a team. However, this love triangle business is getting out of hand. They must put these differences aside and work as a team if they want to even survive the upcoming Chuunin exam.

I consider myself a patient man, but I do not want to repeat past mistakes. They must be a team. Even if that means throwing them together in the middle of the dark forests of Fire Country, letting them fend for themselves in order to find a way back, so be it. Hm. A rather extreme, sadistic solution...

No matter. There is only a few weeks left. I'll find a way.

On a lighter note, I'm almost done with Icha! Icha! Tactics. I'm anxiously anticipating the next volume. ^__^

Interesting. [05 Apr 2005|08:42pm]
And I should have known this would happen. My young team is now experiencing a rivalry. Petty, at least, but still a rivalry. And it's not due to proving one's worth. It's due to a girl. The girl in the team. Both boys, Tsutomu and Hiro are pursuing Kaori. What was supposed to be a basic training exercise in the forest resulted in the two boys competing on who can knock down the most trees. They honestly think this would impress her. How easily these boys forget that strength is not their strong point, but hers. *sigh*

How ironic that other teachers have not encountered the same problems. In any case, I do what I can. I must make sure this problem will be solved when/if the Chuunin exam commence.
And certain events have made my evenings quite...interesting. You have seen Godaime, correct?

Thoroughly amused. [29 Mar 2005|06:46pm]
I managed to find time this morning to return to Icha! Icha! Tactics. Yes, I am very grateful Naruto obtained this for me. It is, in my opinion, one of the greatest pieces of work ever written.

But sadly, I had to put it down. I had to make a trip to the hardware store to buy new side rails for my bedroom window. Unfortunately, they are bent beyond repair. Hmm... perhaps it was done on purpose; easier access to my bedroom. ^__^

Ah, well, perhaps I will return to my reading when I take my young team training tomorrow. It's about time they climb some trees again. Tsutomu, the youngest of the group, seems to control his chakra the best out of the three. Although I have put them through this exercise before, I suppose it doesn't hurt to do it again. In fact, I should put them through some more training before the Chuunin exams head underway again. Whenever that will be.

Ah, tree climbing. Brings back memories... Speaking of which, I am concerned of what's going on in Sunagakure. Hopefully, Sakura can keep Naruto's rash behavior in check.

Naruto and Sakura have arrived in Sunagakure too late, it seems. Kankuro, the Kazekage's brother, is gone. Things have become worse outside Konoha, and Godaime is looking more sleepless and stressed.

The Chuunin exams have been set back, and that also means standard ninja missions have been postponed. The anxiety level is even worse, because the kids do not have work to get their mind off the potential threat that is coming in Konoha's direction. Still, there has been no sign of the Akatsuki. Still, there has been no word of their reason for coming in this direction. Is it still for Naruto? As much as I know Naruto's strength, it would be a rather difficult task for anyone to stand up again any Akatsuki member. After all, the Sand's own Kage was captured.

What doesn't settle my nerves even more is who stands at the gates of Konoha. I know Gai is skilled, but he has been standing there for about a week, with very little sleep and food. And yet, he insists that he will not be relieved of his post for more than a day, or so I hear from his former student, Hyuuga Neji, as he was telling another individual in the lounge. With Gai's eccentric imagination, along with his lack of proper rest and sustenance, I have a very bad feeling.

Perhaps it is nothing, and just paranoia. And so, I should continue to train. And after that, continue with Icha! Icha! Paradise Saga 2, Vol. 1. I'm 1/2 done, you know.

[ mood | numb ]

I had received word that Naruto and Sakura had an encounter with Sasuke. I only wish that they are alright. All of them.

The word of the Akatsuki's move towards Konoha has spread. And with the Chuunin exams being pushed back, it seems to make everyone a little more anxious, if not nervous. I can especially see it in the faces of my young team. They have asked me what they could do to help the village. I could only smile and say to keep a sharp eye and train for the upcoming exams.

Hmm...perhaps I should start training myself. My last encounter with the Akatsuki, specifically Uchiha Itachi, was not a...pleasant one.

(OOC: Konoha is on red-orange alert. Stupid American joke, feel free to hit me.)

Naruto and Sakura have left, along with 3 other young ninjas. I'm sure they'll be fine.

I'm sitting in the Jounin lounge right now. As much as I want to sit peacefully to enjoy my book and Icha! Icha! Tactics! (thank you, Naruto), I cannot sit idle. It is difficult to do so when the threat of the Akatsuki's presense is looming in the air. Perhaps they are after Naruto, perhaps not. The uncertainty of the situation is somewhat nerve-wracking.

Perhaps it is too much to ask to sit back and relish in a good read. Nevertheless, I stay alert.

Change of Plans [12 Mar 2005|08:08pm]
[ mood | contemplative ]

I just received a message from Godaime. The Akatsuki is on the move. Heading towards Konoha. She does not know of how many people are coming or for what business. All that is known is that they are heading towards the village.

And so, I decided to stay, if not for my young team, then for the village.

I did get my copy of Icha! Icha! Paradise Saga 2, Vol. 1 thanks to Anko. She came by my apartment to deliver it. Asuma told her where I lived. She came without calling beforehand, so I didn't even have time to put something on. I had to answer the door in my sleep clothes. *shrug* Oh well.

I'm somewhat at a roadblock. Godaime assigned Naruto, Sakura and myself to a mission, yet my newest team is participating in the upcoming Chuunin exams. I'll need to make my decision soon.

Let's see...

I took my team out on a mission today: plant flowers in a woman's garden. The kids worked fast, which was fine by me. It gave me time to get to town early.

And today this afternoon, I ran into Anko. We chatted for a bit and I even bought her some dango. She wanted me to pay because she didn't want me to see her reach in her bra and get her money, not that I wouldn't mind seeing however, I could care less. In any case, so long as I get my copy of Icha! Icha! Paradise Saga 2, Vol. 1, that is all that matters. It comes out this week, you know.
